UK Dinghy Racing
Newsletter No 3
______________

Just a short Newsletter this Month.

This is the third issue of the Newsletter and I hope to produce one a month, with possible extra issuse during the summer when there is more sailing activity.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Both the Newsletter and the site are non commercial, I do this as a hobby in the evenings and weekends.

The aim of the site is to entertain like minded people who have a passion for dinghy racing or sailing. I have tried to keep the site as specific as possible, ie UK not worldwide although the info and chat may be of interest to many. The listings of Sailing Clubs and Class Associations are purely British so there are no hugh lists of useless links to try and find one useful one.

On the question of links I have spent many hours searching for the UK sites but am sure I have missed some, so if you find any relevant ones please send them to me.

Fantasy Sailing Championships

________________________

Entries have now been closed for this years Fantasy Championship and I am a little disappointed with only 22 entries received.
However lets hope for some close competition and I will endeavour to improve the format and publicity for the next one.

A full list of all entries is now available on the site at

http://www.dingyrac.force9.co.uk/fant/finalents.htm

or there is a link on the front page of the site.

On the issue of publicity I tried to get some for the Championships and the site in Yachts and Yachting, but they do not seem very interested, maybe I should stop suggesting them to the many people who email me each week looking for advise, especially on where to find boats for sale!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Not much else to report this month, the site continues to show a steady increase in visits, as expected about 75% from the UK and the remainder spread around the world. I does appear that our guests from abroad usually have more to say and send me more emails with requests for advise than the British visiters, I think the British are a bit reluctant to take the web on for what it is, a huge community with a free flow of views and ideas.
Maybe this will spark a few replies or articles to be published.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

As results for the Fantasy Championship become available every 2 weeks over the next few months,I will send out a newsletter with the top placings each time new scores are added.

Till then enjoy your sailing and send me some letters for inclusion on the site.
